Your Hosts: Marg & Lindsay Walkington

We have been holiday renting our home now for over 15 years. Holidays are a very special time for all of us. It’s when we get away from our everyday lives, relax, have fun and create our fondest memories. Our lives are now so much richer having had this holiday home. The people we have met, our neighbours, friends and family have all been a part of it. It has brought us much joy and many new people into our lives.

Our story starts back in 1990. We began our annual beach holiday to Ocean Grove when our 3 boys were toddlers. For 17 years we rented numerous Holiday Houses in various locations in Ocean Grove for a week every Christmas Holidays. The boys loved it! and Ocean Grove was a topic they wrote about all through school as their favourite place in the world.

Every year Lindsay and Marg gazed at the properties for sale in the Real Estate windows, thinking how wonderful it would be to own one. Then in July 2007 we decided to make that dream come true when we purchased 20 Barramundi Crescent Ocean Grove. There was much excitement, we spent hours cleaning walls, floors and fixing everything. We scrubbed the house from top to bottom, furnished and decorated, added beach pictures and decor. We had a great time transforming it into our Holiday Home.

We listed it online for bookings in December 2007 and welcomed our first guests in January 2008. Our own experiences renting holiday homes over the 17 years gave us a good knowledge of what would be important for our guests to enjoy their stay in our home. It needs to be clean and welcoming, everything there just like home, uncluttered, must have a beach theme and a good vibe!

It’s so rewarding when we receive texts and reviews from guests that have had a great time staying! We take a lot of pride in our home and our customer service. It really has been a wonderful experience!
